I am not here today in an attempt to debate on the subject of this post, and I’m not here to declare what “shape” the earth is. The most honest answer is invariable always that one which best describes one’s best disposition, which is that I simply don’t know. I cannot know. I have no vantage point to utter such a confident declaration and build a faith-based counter-cultural movement around it. I would never claim to know without seeing for myself, which I cannot.

This is, by the way, a great example of where the Trivium method (grammar, logic, rhetoric) works wonders. The trick with applying the Trivium method is to know when it is applicable and when it is not. The Truth, when told, needs not the Trivium to show it to be Truth. Most scientists tell us we are hurtling through space on an oblate spheroid spinning at approximately 1,040 mph at the equator (0 mph at the poles) on an elliptical orbit around a GV2 yellow dwarf star that is rotating at 514K mph around an arm of the Milky Way spiral galaxy (taking 230M years to orbit it), which has a supermassive black hole at its center, while said galaxy is allegedly barreling away from the origin of the Big Bang at an astonishing 1.3M mph — ripping space-time in its wake! Wow!!! And, these are the same “scientists” who tell us exactly how the core of our planet is comprised, yet the deepest borehole ever drilled (Kola Superdeep Borehole) is 7.62 miles… and (gasp!) they discovered the remnants of the “fountains of the deep” just as is described in the Bible. We have been indoctrinated since birth with our solar system mobiles on our cribs. #WakeUp #QuestionEverything

          1. Sure it does — at least for the Big Bang/Big Crunch…

            The Big Bang theory suggests that the initial state of the entire universe was one of INFINITE density and temperature at a finite point in time. I challenge ANYONE to explain how that could possibly occur; it defies ALL known scientific laws! Plus, from where did that dense matter of incredible temperature originate? It simply came into existence from nothingness? What scientific law proves that ANYTHING can be formed from NOTHING? There isn’t — one must have FAITH! Stephen Hawking in “A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes” states that the universe expands, contracts back into the “initial state” or singularity then expands again in an endless cosmological cycle, yet he NEVER explains how that singularity came to be in the first place or exactly why all the laws of physics breakdown within it. He is called one of the greatest minds of our time; I submit that he is given nearly unlimited intellectual leeway due to his physical infirmity.

            All this infinite matter magically coalesced into stars which magically started a fusion reactor in each. Billions of stars magically formed galaxies. Sloughed off matter from stars magically formed planets, moons, asteroids, and every other celestial body in solar systems all while traveling through infinite space at incomprehensible speeds. Recall that we’re allegedly on a spinning oblate spheroid in an elliptical orbit around the sun that is in a rotating arm of the Milky Way galaxy which has a supermassive black hole at its center. It’s laughable when you really think about it, but we were all indoctrinated into this way of thinking from the time we had solar system mobiles attached to our cribs.

            In a fraction of planets, water magically formed and in even fewer, atmospheres, and in fewer still — life! What logical, intellectually honest person could believe in such a fantasy — even over billions of “years?” It would certainly require FAITH! Even all the essential amino acids (which originate from diet alone) cannot be synthesized in a lab — much less in a primordial soup in the unimaginably harsh environment of early Earth. That doesn’t even touch upon the complexity of even single-celled organisms and all the intricate, biochemical processes that must occur beforehand to form them in an undirected way. Then, these organisms must magically evolve — again in an undirected way unsupported by the fossil record (lacking evidence of intermediates) — into the interdependent biodiversity in myriad biospheres and habitats observed in our modern world. It’s statistically IMPOSSIBLE! Folks, we have been deceived…

            1. I 100% agree that the big bang, evolution, etc, is ridiculously laughable. However, a round earth doesn’t prove or require big bang, evolution, etc. It can easily simply be created.
              Can people at least please stop using the argument that a round earth requires evolution, because you’re declaring God’s power is limited.

              1. I agree that evolution has nothing to do with the shape of the Earth, but the false theories of the Big Bang and evolution go hand-in-hand.

                Keeping with the shape of Earth, explain this:

                Matthew 24:30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. (NASB)

                So, ALL tribes/nations will see Christ coming on the clouds of the sky. How can ALL nations witness this event simultaneously if the Earth is an oblate spheroid?

    Concentrate on verse 5… The Big Bang THEORY cannot be reconciled with the TRUTH of the Creation! People need to learn about the first man to reach the stratosphere, who was a true erudite scientist, and what he said about the Earth. His name was Auguste Piccard, and his name was blotted out of most history books because he had the audacity to tell the truth regarding the Earth: “It seemed a flat disk with upturned edge.” Historical revisionists have completely twisted his words… just like most do with the Scriptures. False traditions (embellishments not in the Scriptures), precepts of men (manufactured theology), and doctrines of demons (assimilated paganism): we were warned against all three!

    1. The point of the article was refuting certain specific claims by some flat earthers – the author openly admitted he doesn’t know one way or the other what shape the earth is.
      You’re probably aware that Isaiah 40:22 says “He Who sits above the circle of the earth”. If you look up the Hebrew word for circle (#2329), you’ll find it means “circuit” i.e. “orbit”. A more accurate translation is “He Who sits above the CIRCUIT/ORBIT of the Earth”. Some dictionaries claim the word also means “sphere”. Whether or not “sphere” is one of its definitions, its usage in Isaiah 40:22 demonstrates the heliocentric model of the solar system.
      Also, when reading Scripture first thing in the morning recently, I noticed something interesting in the Book of Jubilees – in chapter 8, when Noah’s sons divide the earth amongst themselves. It says that Japheth got the north, Shem the equator (roughly), and Ham the south.
      Now, in a flat earth model, the north is the middle/centre of the earth, and the equatorial and southern parts are effectively “outer bands”. But in Jubilees 8, it specifically defines the roughly equatorial regions as the “middle of the earth”. If the earth was flat, Japheth’s lands would be the middle of the earth. If the earth was round, Shem’s portion would be the middle of the Earth. And according to the Bible (Jubilees), Shem’s portions – which make up the middle of a round earth – are the middle of the earth. (And no, it doesn’t merely say that Shem’s was the middle of the three portions; it specifically says in verse 12 that it was the middle of the EARTH). Thus demonstrating a round earth.
      As for August Piccard: his grandson claims he was the first person to witness the curvature of the earth.

      1. Yes, I address the Hebrew “chug” in http://bit.ly/YomSheni. Most cannot escape the cognitive dissonance created by years of “programming.” If stars are huge fusion furnaces — most much larger than our sun, then how could a third of those fall to Earth in Revelation 12:4? If we live in a heliocentric solar system revolving around an arm of the Milky Way galaxy speeding away from the origin of the Big Bang, then why don’t the constellations change based on all these movements? Also, I happen to own a first-run issue of Popular Mechanics where Piccard was originally quoted.

        Fortunately, I have a copy of Jubilees, and a better description of how these three lots were further divided is found in Chapter 9. If you need me to translate those lands into modern nations, I’ll be happy to assist. Neither chapter alludes to Earth’s shape.

        1 Enoch is very clear about the gates and windows from which the sun, moon, and stars rise and set (within the confines of the celestial sphere — aka the vault of Heaven). I would refer you to the Gleason map (https://www.digitalcommonwealth.org/search/commonwealth:7h149v85z), but you would simply discount it.

        Bottom line: There are ill-educated people on both sides of the fence. Twenty years ago, I probably would’ve scoffed at anything other than an oblate spheroid in a heliocentric model. Through Biblical and extra-Biblical research coupled with my own observations as well as those from other citizen scientists, the evidence does not align with what we’ve been taught through “formal” education/indoctrination. Satan and his minions want us to think that we are an insignificant speck in a nearly infinite universe instead of a very significant and special Creation. We can agree to disagree, but I understand the modus operandi for our deception, and I continue to investigate it applying the scientific method.

          1. You’re not thinking in 4D. Each solar system allegedly moves independently even if all were in the same galaxy. They would certainly change even over short periods of time, but we know that they haven’t for at least a couple of millennia. In fact, they never will. The fact also remains that God created a 364 yomim year; see http://bit.ly/DSSCalendarDiscovery. Even His appointed times (Heb. mo’edim) occur on the same month, day, and day of the week year after year after year. This is possible because a Biblical yom is approximately five minutes longer than a SI day.

If the flat earthers I’ve seen (including family friends – heck, even my older half-brother) are anything to go by, they won’t be convinced by ANYTHING – ANYTHING, no matter how solid (and inconvenient for a flat earth) – we present. Some have even resorted to outright deception. They’ll take NASA video clips of their Orion capsule stating that they’ll be able to pass beyond low earth orbit for the first time “IN ___ YEARS”, and then CUT OUT THE “IN ___ YEARS” (so that one only years “go beyond low earth orbit for the first time”) and put it in videos claiming NASA has accidentally admitted to never going to the moon. These clips have spread like wildfire among both the flat earth & moon landing hoax movements. I can’t tell you the headache it gives me – those, and other easily disprovable arguments that they make to sound like solid proof.

            1. No clue. Many actually use the argument that because the piece of ground they’re standing on looks flat, therefore the earth is flat. Never mind the curvature that people HAVE seen from great heights.
              And then there’s the issue of Chile-Australia plane flights. According to the flat earth model, a flight between Chile and Australia should be imossible (a claim flat earthers frequently make – that you can’t get one), because they’re literally (on THEIR model) on opposite sides of the globe. However, you will find that you CAN get a flight from Australia to Chile – AND the distance it covers is literally identical to the distance it would cover on the globe, which is considerably shorter than the distance it would cover doing the same route on a flat earth.
