Today is in Australia (for me) the Day of Atonement; it’s the 7th in the US (if you follow my calendar).
Today – Monday, 8th October, 2018 – is (at least in Australia) Yom Kippur – otherwise known in English as the Day of Atonement, one of the Biblical feasts mandated in the Torah, which still apply to us.
This feast is described in Leviticus as follows:
And YEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, “Also on the 10th day of this 7th month is Yom Kippurim; it shall be a set-apart assembly to you, and you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to YEHOVAH.
