Pesach – The Feast of Passover

Today is Passover in Australia, for me. (For those following my calendar: Passover is the evening of the 29th to the evening of the 30th in America; my apologies for not getting this year’s Feast Calendar up yet.)

Today is (in Australia) the first day of the Feast of Pesach, known in English as Passover.  I explain my calendar here: Yom Teruah – The Feast of Trumpets.  You can view my feast calendar here: Feast Calendar.

Many think Passover and other Biblical feasts don’t apply because “Jesus did away with all that”.  That is refuted by Yeshua/Jesus’ own words.  See my post Does the Torah Still Apply?.

Passover – which occurs on the 14th (NOT 15th) of the month Aviv – commemorates when YEHOVAH/God delivered the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt through Moses, after a delivering a series of devastating plagues upon Egypt.  From the Bible:

And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
